Thomson extends its content deal with 360TravelGuide.com

Virtual tours specialist 360TravelGuide.com has signed a 12-month contract renewal with UK’s holiday company Thomson. (3/19/2007)

Thomson has decided to renew its licence with 360TravelGuide.com for a further 12 months of content use on Thomson.co.uk.

Thomson.co.uk features their 360TRAVELpacks, a product tailor-made for the travel industry which currently includes 360RESORTpacks and 360CITYpacks. Each pack offers a suite of immersive virtual tours, interactive maps and unique text for the most popular destinations and resorts worldwide.

For the initial 12-month licence period in 2006, there were 33 360TRAVELpacks licenced to Thomson. This has been expanded to 50 360TRAVELpacks for 2007. The 17 additional destinations covered in the new contract are Athens, Budapest, Helsinki, London, Malaga, Naples, Oslo, Sorrento, Stockholm, Tallinn, Australia, Costa Brava, Costa Dorada, Madeira, New Zealand, Paxos and Tunisia.

Graham Donoghue, new media director, TUI Northern Europe said in 2006 the content from 360TravelGuide.com received 1,000,000 page impressions and, in this January alone, over 200,000 individual packs were viewed.

Paul Baderman, co-director, 360TravelGuide.com said, “The renewal of this contract underlines Thomson’s ongoing strategy to embrace web 2.0 by continuing to enhance their content rich website.
