The Aloft Hotels brand is trying another tech-heavy initiative to position itself as a forward-thinking chain: voice-activated room services.
The chain has introduced the technology at its US properties in Boston and Santa Clara this week, allowing guests to use an in-room iPad to issue commands.
The user says “Hello, Siri” into the device and then ask for different services or features.
For example, “Hey, Siri, cool the room”, when it’s too warm… Or “Hey, Siri, good morning” will turn on the lights.
