Indian OTA Cleartrip has invested an undisclosed sum in Calcutta-based hotel IT business IManageMyHotel.

The OTA has bought the business in order to help it get more smaller properties onto its books.

Its head of corporate strategy Aditya Agarwal explained:

“Cleartrip as a business is expanding and has over 25,000 hotels on its platform. However, many of them are small and mid-sized hotels that are not technologically sophisticated and cannot manage their inventory on a real-time basis. So, we brought IManageMyHotels on board.”

IManageMyHotel, founded in 2014, is a cloud-based property management system with features helping small hotels across a range of distribution and operational roles. Its co-founder and CEO Sourav Goswami told the local business press that it has 200 hotel clients, ranging from ten rooms to 50.

Offering hotels a cloud-based PMS option with distribution and operational modules is a developing sector within India’s growing online hotel accommodation sector. IManageMyHotel claims that it is optimised for slower 2G connections and that hoteliers can use it even without an internet connection, opening up distribution options for the most remote properties in the country.
