Google has added a raft of new ground transportation services including 99Taxis in Brazil, Ola Cabs in India,Hailo in the UK and Spain, MyTaxi in Germany and Spain and Gett in the UK to its Maps product.

Google has added a raft of new ground transportation services to its Maps product, with many of rivals of Uber now getting exposure.

Mobile users of Google Maps will now be able to find ground transportation options from multiple providers in a specific destination.

The move follows the integration of Uber into the Google Maps platform in May 2014, following a major redesign of the site.

The additional providers featured in five countries will be:

1. 99Taxis in Brazil
2. Ola Cabs in India
3. Hailo in the UK and Spain
4. MyTaxi in Germany and Spain
5. Gett in the UK

The Google Maps application will allow users to see fare estimates and pick-up times if a supplier has a vehicle nearby.

Users then click on the supplier to secure the ride.

Google says:

“When it makes sense, we’ll also show ride service availability when viewing the map in walking and transit directions, and multiple ride services options for each provider – where they exist.”

For example, Uber will show uberX, uberXL and UberBLACK for comparison.

The additional of the new providers will be availabile initially on Android-hosted devices, with iOS coming shortly.
