Given our mobile-first world, travel brands need to get their mobile user experience to come up to speed, literally (given Internet bandwidth variability).

Enter, Instart Logic, a seller of mobile application delivery technology. This Silicon Valley startup said today it has acquired Kwicr, a mobile app accelerator, to help enhance its product suite.

Instart Logic tripled its sales growth last year by serving many e-commerce verticals, including travel — with clients like Gogobot, Commune Hotels, and BookIt.

Terms of the deal weren’t disclosed. Kwicr, based in Massachusetts, had raised about $8 million; Instart Logic raised about $45 million last month.

Instart Logic will make Kwicr’s network layer optimizations and analytics available via its Mobile Delivery Network software development kit (SDK) to help provide end-to-end application acceleration for Web, hybrid, and native apps.

Services like these may become more common, given overall mobile trends. This week Criteo, the digital advertising giant, released a survey finding that apps account for more travel purchases than the mobile web.

Given this burgeoning sector, it seems logical to expect other deals involving other mobile content acceleration services, such as perhaps Akamai Technologies, A2Zlogix, and Limelight Networks.
