Australian tours and activities software specialist Rezdy has raised $3 million Series A funding and has earmarked to cash for further expansion into the US and new products.

The round has been led by Bailador Technology Investments.

Rezdy has also appointed David Kirk, who captained New Zealand’s All Blacks in the 1987 Rugby World Cup as chairman. He is the co-founder and partner at Bailador.

Simon Lenoir, CEO of Rezdy, said that Rezdy is “now connecting more tour and activity providers to more distribution channels than anyone else in the travel industry” and that currently 40% of its revenues come from outside its Australian home market.

In  a statement, Rezdy said it will use the funds to boost its growth in the United States, where it opened an office at the start of 2014 after getting $1 million in seed capital.

It operates an API used by more than 1000 tours operators to run their own web sites or connect to third parties. It recently launched a B2B marketplace for its clients to work with travel agents.
