Palisis specialises in ticketing for local tour operators and is a good fit for TourCMS, which is used by hundreds of tour operators as well as online travel agencies.
The TourCMS team, including founder and chief executive Alex Bainbridge, also a Tnooz node, will stay on and be involved with the company.
A statement to customers of TourCMS says the acquisition will provide “an injection of resources that will be used to enhance and support the TourCMS reservation system and distribution service.”
The statement goes on to say the investment will include a focus on day and multi-day tours.
Bainbridge founded TravelUCD in 2002 and has been building the company up steadily since then. Three years ago the company signed a deal with Gray Line, one of the largest tour operators in the world, to make tours bookable in real-time using a single connection via TourCMS.
At the time, the partnership was seen as a clear signal that tours and activities, up until then relatively untapped in the online world because of the lack of connectivity, was coming of age.
