Metropolo looks to double number of hotels

Mid-range limited service hotel brand “Metropolo” is quickly dominating the mid-range hotel market with a network of 40 hotels in 26 cities in 13 provinces. It plans to expand to 100 hotels within the next 3-5 years.

Mid-range limited service hotel brand “Metropolo”, launched by Jinjiang Holdings last year, is quickly dominating the mid-range hotel market with a network of 40 hotels in 26 cities in 13 provinces. It plans to expand to 100 hotels within the next 3-5 years.

Jinjiang Holdings acquired 21 Smartel hotels in 2013 and converted them to the Metropolo hotel brand. Leveraging Metropolo’s advanced central channels supported by large systems, the new hotels’ occupancy rate went up and RevPAR increased by almost RMB20.

Besides the acquisition of Smartel, Jinjiang Group also added a number of their three-star and four-star hotels to the Metropolo brand, including well-known Shanghai hotels such as Da Hua Hotel, Marvel Hotel, Magnotel, Minhang Hotel, Xincheng Hotel, Hua Ting Guesthouse and Jinsha Hotel. Metropolo CEO Mengchu Yu is also acting brand manager for the hotel.(Translation by David)
