Skyscanner buys its way further into mobile with Distinction acquisition
Skyscanner has once again acquired a company to boost a strand of its strategy – this time Hungarian mobile software agency, Distinction.
The acquisition, terms of which were not disclosed, will form part of the UK-based metasearch engine's drive to ensure it supports CEO Gareth William's vision that "the future of online travel booking is undoubtedly mobile".
The Distinction team in Budapest will now form the main mobile department for Skyscanner under director of mobile strategy, Jenny Herbison.
Skyscanner is one of its Distinction's existing clients, having worked on its hotel app which was unveiled in the summer of 2014 for both Android and Apple devices.
