eLong COO Jason Xie resigns to start new business
Jason Xie who has been eLong’s Chief Operating Officer for almost seven years will immediately step down as eLong will bring in two technocratic vice presidents to maintain the company’s mobile platform and seek a new technological breakthrough.
eLong Inc., the online travel website that specializes in hotel booking, will undergo an important high level personnel change. Jason Xie who has been eLong’s Chief Operating Officer for almost seven years will immediately step down as eLong will bring in two technocratic vice presidents to maintain the company’s mobile platform and seek a new technological breakthrough.
During his time as COO, Jason Xie was responsible for investment and marketing. He plans to start a new company after resignation but at the moment he has no definite projects. In the future, CEO Guangfu Cui will also take over the position of COO, sales and marketing will also be under his direction.
Jason Xie entered eLong in January 2008 and in May of 2011 was promoted to COO, he was a colleague of Guanfu Cui at Procter and Gamble and FedEx Kinko’s.
Jason Xie made many contributions during his time at eLong such as the acquisitions of hotel booking companies: Zhuna.com, Sunnychina.com, Yuanfang travel.com, Zhuzher, and Yunzhanggui etc. In recent years these companies that eLong’s has invested in have contributed to a large part of the company’s performance. Additionally, one of Jason Xie’s greatest contributions at eLong was the improvement of the company’s online advertising and online presence.
According to reports, after taking up the CEO position Guanfu Cui has brought in several senior executives from his previous employers P&G and FedEx.
