After a year under China Southern Airlines management, Henan Airlines has formed its own board of directors, received subsidiary assets, and established its safety protocol and service standards. On September 19th Henan Airlines officially became an independent operational entity.
Henan Airlines is jointly established at a shareholding structure of 3:2 by China Southern Airlines Co Ltd and Henan Civil Aviation Development and Investment Co Ltd. Henan Airlines has 6 billion RMB in registered capital and will remain in close collaboration with China Southern Airlines. They will use the China Southern Airlines logo and keep the original flight numbers to continue leveraging the extensive network of China Southern Airlines.
Currently, Henan Airlines has a fleet of 25 planes, with flights connecting 51 domestic and international cities such as Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Seoul, Bangkok, and Taipei etc. Now that Henan Airlines has become independent they will increase capacity to make Zhengzhou an important air freight hub and cargo operations base, supplementing China Southern Airline’s well developed passenger undercarriage cargo resources and air freight network.
