Will Google Flight Search adopt open advertising model? With airlines safe, Farelogix exits FairSearch

With the beachhead secured, Farelogix dropped out of FairSearch.org, the anti-Google lobbying group.

Jim Davidson, CEO of founding FairSearch member Farelogix, says the technology company dropped out of the coalition two to three weeks ago after ensuring that Google’s acquisition of ITA Software didn’t disadvantage airlines.

In fact, the first byproduct of the acquisition, Google Flight Search, links to airline websites only and so far has no participation from online travel agency and travel metasearch websites.
