Plenty of “no comments” from Opodo and Amadeus about a possible sale hasn’t put a stop to those circling the wagons, with GoVoyages the first to express an interest.
Opodo CEO Ignacio Martos has consistently refused to discuss the matter over recent weeks and Amadeus is remaining tight lipped, commenting briefly to quash reports that it had confirmed its decision to sell.
But it appears there is some work going on behind the scenes with French online travel agency GoVoyages publicly stating its interest in Opodo.
Speaking to French newspaper Les Echos, parent organisation Go Travel CEO Nicolas Brumelot says the company is considering investing in other OTAs around Europe to bolster its growing position on the continent.
