At any one time, it will be offering dozens of coupons for discounts at the online travel agencies (Orbitz, Expedia, Travelocity, Hotels.com, etc.), rental-car companies, hotel chains, airlines, amusement parks, even such travel gear and clothing outlets as REI, Sierra Trading Post and eBags. While sometimes the savings are negligible (is it even worth it to click through for a 5 per cent savings on a full-price hotel room?), in many cases the codes lead to significant savings and even freebies (as in an offer I just found from an American bus company giving away free rides to and from Philadelphia). I particularly appreciate RetailMeNot’s honesty: Along with “Active Coupons,” it lists “Unreliable Coupon” codes, along with the percentage of times these promotions actually work.
