In what could be a blockbuster move and a tease of things to come, Google quietly added travel to its U.S. homepage last night, with an assist from Kayak, TripIt, Concierge.com and National Geographic.

In what could be a blockbuster move and a tease of things to come, Google quietly added travel to its U.S. homepage last night, with an assist from Kayak, TripIt, Concierge.com and National Geographic.

Under the Google Search and I’m Feeling Lucky buttons is “New! Travel the world from your Google homepage.”
 
Clicking on the Travel the World link brings users to the following iGoogle page where they can add a flight-search widget from Kayak, TripIt’s trip-sharing services, news and photos from National Geographic, and/or hotel and editorial content from Concierge.com.
