Continental Airlines hopes to get a leg up with fees for premium seats

Continental will begin offering passengers the option of purchasing economy-class seats with extra legroom, with a minimum of seven extra inches of leg-stretching space.

Kicking it in with other airlines pursuing ancillary services, Continental will begin offering passengers the option of purchasing economy-class seats with extra legroom, with a minimum of seven extra inches of leg-stretching space.

The seats in question are exit-row seats.

As is true with many such ancillary services these days, the option is available only on the airline’s website, up to 24 hours before departure, and at airport kiosks at check-in.
