Carlson celebrates record revenue and property numbers
Tuesday, February 03, 2009：The past year has been successful for Carlson Hotels Worldwide, who added 89 new properties to their five brands in 2008, and achieved system-wide revenues of $7.5 billion.
This marked an eight percent increase in revenue from 2007 for Carlson.
The group enjoyed global hotel openings in 2008 across the globe, including London, Paris, Zurich, Moscow, Shanghai, Johannesburg, Sao Paulo, Dubai and Dallas.
The worldwide portfolio for Carlson Hotels, which includes reputed brands such as Radisson, Country Inn & Suites and Park Inn, now spans 74 countries with 1,013 hotels.
"Despite a challenging economic environment in 2008, we achieved continuing strong unit growth with the addition of nearly 90 new properties across our five brands accompanied by strong revenue growth," said Jay Witzel, president and CEO of Carlson Hotels Worldwide.
"We also signed 151 new agreements globally in 2008 and have more than 300 hotels under various phases of development around the world.”
He concluded, “In 2009, we will continue to focus on growing our worldwide portfolio while managing through the difficult economic conditions.”
