New resort brand to extend Ritz-Carlton's luxury status
Wednesday, December 24, 2008: The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, L.L.C. announced last week the launch of a new luxury resort brand named The Ritz Carlton Reserve that will cater to guests seeking an escape.
Each property will feature a unique design and architecture that compliments its contemporary cultural and environmental surroundings.
Dedicated areas in the resorts will also play on the four natural elements – fire for romantic interiors, water for bathing facilities, air for open spaces and earth for discreet implementations of technology.
Simon Cooper, president and chief operating officer, The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company said the resorts would provide a “complete escape to the unexpected” and blend “local culture, history, and heritage with intuitive individual service, exquisite indigenous design, casual ambiance, and respect for the surrounding environment.”
The first property to bear the extended brand will be Phulay Bay in Krabi, Thailand which will open in 2009. Guest rooms will have oversized beds and doorways as well as ocean views, private plunge pools, sheltered outdoor baths and showers.
Locations selected for future developments of Ritz Carlton Reserve properties include Costa Rica, Puerto Rico, Turks & Caicos and The United Arab Emirates.
