Published: 04 Nov 2008: British Airways has launched its mobile check-in service.
The airline is giving passengers an option to select their seats from their BlackBerry or web-enabled mobile phone.
The service, at www.ba.com/mobile, allows passengers to access the airline´s timetables as well as real-time arrival and departure information. The information is available in 11 languages and can be viewed without downloading any software to your device.
"We carried out some research and found 40 percent of our customers use online check-in but only in one direction because they don´t have access to a computer at one end of their journey. So this service is really convenient," Carmichael added.
The move follows an Apple iPhone application from BA launched in July 2008, enabling users to check-in.
