Amadeus has formed a new partnership agreement with Japan´s largest travel agency JTB´s wholly-owned JTB Corporate Solutions. The partnership will result in Amadeus e-Travel Management online solution´s seamless integration with "J´s NAVI". As a result, businesses in Japan which were previously only able to book domestic travel with JTB´s existing "J´s NAVI" system will now also be able to book international travel.

According to Amadeus, which is celebrating its tenth year of operation in Japan, the single booking system will consequently reduce costs and enhance efficiency for corporate travellers, who represent a very large segment of the travel market in Japan.

Miho Ohtake, General Manager for Amadeus Japan, said: "Efficient and secure travel reservation and IT systems are no longer needed only by airlines, but we have also seen growing demand from hotels, trains, ferries, rental car companies and travel insurers."

Amadeus has made a significant investment to enhance the hotel reservation features of its Amadeus Selling Platform – which allows travel professionals to manage all air and other travel content including pre and post-sale activities with a single-screen interface. This has resulted in a 300% increase in the number of hotel reservations enabled by Amadeus in Japan in 2007, compared with 2006, stated the company.
