Tuesday, 4 September 2007:Cathay Pacific will launch its new electronic initiatives after it relocates to its new terminal at Tan Son Nhat Airport on September 1, said Suzanne Wong, the airline’s country manager.

A Cathay Pacific website has been made specifically for the Vietnamese market, and will include e-ticketing services as well as facilities to book online and check-in.

The initiatives will help improve services for the second largest airline in Vietnam, in terms of flight numbers, for travellers on Cathay flights in and out of Vietnam.

"The number of foreign visitors travelling on Cathay Pacific to Vietnam, especially from the United Kingdom, Germany, France and Hong Kong has increased by more than 40%,” said Ms Wong.

"The first eight months have had positive growth. I trust this trend will continue as the business travel peak will be experienced in the remaining four months."

Ms Wong also attributed the growing load factors to the changes that were occurring to Vietnam’s aviation industry, including an increase in the number of business and leisure travellers.
