15 June 2007：A group of former Expedia managers have launched a new accommodation search website featuring video footage of 1,500 hotels in 25 European destinations.
Tvtrip.com is the brainchild of Marc Ruff, former vice president, Europe; Fabien Bourdier, former managing director, France; Marc Pfohl, former marketing director, France; and Anja Keckeisen, former managing director, Germany.
It features professionally filmed video clips, although its backers are encouraging users to post comments and reviews and upload their own content to add a community element.
A typical set of clips include a look at the property’s different room types, facilities and immediate surroundings. Searches are also returned with an area map, suggested itinerary, photographs, and a list of amenities and price information.
Users can also book accommodation via the site and take advantage of preferential rates through its partnerships with Booking and Expedia.
Later this month Tvtrip.com will launch localised versions for the UK (tvtrip.co.uk), France (tvtrip.fr), Germany (tvtrip.de), Spain (tvtrip.es) and Italy (tvtrip.it).
