China’s travel search engine Qunar.com has indicated about a “possible joint venture in Japan by the end of this year”. (5/16/2007)
According to Reuters’ report, Chief Executive Fritz Demopoulos Qunar was also in talks for a similar tie-up in South Korea, though they were at a much more preliminary stage.
“We are discussing with a range of potential partners -- big players with some Internet assets,” he reportedly said. The report shared that Qunar, which is expected to break even consistently in 2008, rather than inconsistently at present, may also seek a public listing in 2010 or 2011, either in Hong Kong or on the US tech-heavy Nasdaq, as per the expected developments shared by Demopoulos, a co-founder of Qunar.com..
The site had five million unique visitors last month, he added.
