Kanoo Travel opts for Dolphin Dynamics' offerings
Kanoo Travel Ltd (UK) is to roll out Dolphin TravelScanner and Dolphin Travel Manager as its new travel agency point of sale and mid/back office automation platform. (3/2/2007)
As per the deal, Dolphin’s integrated systems are to be deployed throughout the 18 American Express-branded UK offices.
Kanoo Travel will operate the UK Travel business as a franchise of American Express Travel Services. Kanoo Travel operates the largest travel network in the Middle East, with over 170 travel office locations throughout the Gulf region.
TravelScanner will allow Kanoo’s travel consultants to easily search, compare and sell, from a single browser-based application, a wide range of travel products from a variety of providers, including flights (both GDS published and net fares, low cost carriers and charter), as well as accommodation and travel insurance.
According to an official release, the TravelScanner booking engine then seamlessly integrates with Dolphin Travel Manager, where the booking fulfilment, quality control and travel accounting activity takes place to manage the entire front, mid and back office operation. The integrated platform also provides Kanoo with a rules-based dynamic pricing and packaging engine that gives the business the ability to automatically calculate and apply mark-ups and commissions, controlling the sales process, maximising margins and providing a better user experience.
Roberto Da Re, President, Dolphin Dynamics said, “We will also be integrating additional data sources into TravelScanner to provide increased product distribution as well as maximum efficiency to Kanoo Travel and its suppliers.”
Both TravelScanner and Travel Manager are provided to Kanoo Travel as fully managed applications, hosted in the Dolphin Dynamics data centre, where the connectivity with various suppliers and third party systems are maintained.
